Silver Clay 'Pendant Setting' workshop by Sue Heaser

Sat 7 and/or Sun 8 July 2012 (date tbc)

Venue in South Norfolk (tbc)

Put the dates in your diary now! more details later!

At our Bead Society workshop in 2010 Sue showed us exciting new ways to make beautiful beads out of silver metal clay without the need for a kiln or expensive equipment. Simple firing techniques such as a gas hob are used and results are high quality and sophisticated beads made in pure 999 silver that can be hallmarked. The techniques can also be used to make silver pendant settings with only a few basic tools.

During this new class we will make a silver setting for a feature piece with a flat back brought to the workshop by each student (details of the size and dimensions allowed later).

Sue will supply the materials for all attendees and loan tools for the day. The tuition itself will be free but we'll give details later, including what to bring and the cost of the silver clay which Sue will bring and each student can buy directly from her.

Sue Heaser has worked professionally in crafts for over 25 years and is the author of thirteen major craft books, mainly on modelling clays and jewellery. Her latest book, Magical Metal Clay Jewellery, with many of her techniques, was published in October 2008 and she is now working on a new one.

More details later.
